Rush's Geddy Lee (left) and Alex Lifeson will embark on a short tour in 2026 to celebrate the band's legacy and the life of deceased drummer Neil Peart.

More than a decade after their last tour and five years since the death of legendary drummer Neil Peart, Rush is returning to the stage.

Band founders Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson will embark on the 12-date Fifty Something tour in June to celebrate the music of the prog rock pioneers, their legacy and the life of Peart. They’ll be joined by former Jeff Beck drummer Anika Nilles.

The tour, the first time Lee and Lifeson have been together in 11 years since the finale of the Rush R40 Tour in Los Angeles, kicks off in that same city with a pair of shows June 7 and 9 at the Kia Forum. The band will also hit Mexico City, Fort Worth, Texas, Chicago, New York, Toronto and Cleveland.

In a statement announcing the tour, Lee said, "Alex and I have done some serious soul searching and come to the decision that we … miss it, and that it's time for a celebration of 50-something years of RUSH music. So in 2026 my BFF Lerxst (aka Alex Lifeson) and I are going to hit the road once again to pay tribute to our past and to Neil by performing a vast selection of RUSH songs in a handful of cities. No small task, because as we all know Neil was irreplaceable."

Lee also noted that "life is full of surprises" in sharing the introduction of Nilles and joked that he and Lifeson will likely add "another musician or two to expand our sound a wee bit and free up Alex and I, in order to show off some of our new fancy dance steps."

Peart's widow Carrie Nuttall-Peart and daughter OIivia Peart blessed the outing by praising Peart's "singular musicianship" and supporting Rush "as the band enters this new chapter."

Peart, renowned as one of the mightiest drummers in rock history, died of brain cancer in January 2020 at the age of 67.
