In between drinking from a tiny toilet, live-streaming an “up yours” to Stefano Utoikamanu and flashing those bright-green eyes and his shiny new Clive Churchill Medal, Reece Walsh produced a moment far cooler than anything on his TikTok or Instagram.

As he came to terms with his simply stunning grand final performance, Walsh cast back to the 2023 grand final and a vow he made to then-Broncos coach Kevin Walters.
