Vermont's own Olympic rugby player is now a Barbie doll.

On Monday, Oct. 6, Barbie announced a collaboration with Burlington-born Olympic medalist Ilona Maher, a social media star who uses her platform to advocate for body positivity and embrace female strength.

Maher is one of four athlete dolls who will make up Team Barbie, which is described as "a coalition of four powerful role models and professional rugby players from across the globe to encourage girls to own their confidence proudly" in a press release from Mattel .

"The women of Team Barbie are dedicated to believing in their abilities, even when competing in a sport often regarded as a male-dominated field," the release continues. "With Barbie, they're on a mission to encourage young girls to do the same."
