Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin summed up the arrival of three prospects in one sentence: "They make our team better."

Twenty-year-olds Michael Brandsegg-Nygård, Axel Sandin Pellikka and Emmitt Finnie were in regular spots when the Wings practiced on Monday, Oct. 6, hours ahead of the 5 p.m. deadline to submit the 23-man roster.

"Everything they've done to this point has led to them getting this day," coach Todd McLellan said. "We'll just take it day by day, but, in practice today, they were attentive, they were alert, they executed, they had a sense of belonging, and the group embraced them. And it's not easy for the group today because a couple of their good teammates, good friends, weren't here either."
