Chai Urgent Care in the Jackson Heights Shopping Center has been permanently shuttered, according to a senior official from Muss Development, which owns the complex.
A notice of legal possession from the City Marshal’s Office dated Oct. 1 was posted to the front of the clinic, located at 75-37 31 Ave. in East Elmhurst. It states that the premises are in the hands of the landlord, listed as Allied Jackson Heights LLC.
Asked about the closure, Bill Bergman, Muss’s senior vice president of leasing, said the urgent-care facility did not pay its rent, but it also had been operating “sparsely” for the past few months. He attributed the closure to the clinic’s internal matters more than anything involving his company.
“It’s a permanent closure,” Bergman told the Chronicle Monday. “We have core
