Watching the reactions of Prime Minister Mark Carney and U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer to the attack on the Manchester synagogue was a pinch-me moment; I was tempted to take out my rage on the innocent flat screen.

In just two years, the entire arc of antisemitic normalization has played out: from slogans and slurs, to social exclusion, to real-world violence, to global institutional silence or complicity.

The parallels with 1930s Europe are chilling: the speed of normalization is accelerated by social media, the global protest movement and the weaponization of human rights rhetoric.
