It was the first time Maui residents Jay Molina and his son Andrew had been to Canada, and he was enjoying the atmosphere of the first annual Fort Langley International Ukulele Festival.

"We're having a great time, people here are lovely, and the town is beautiful," Molina told the Langley Advance Times. "We love Langley. It's such a quaint little town."

Two of the big names from the Hawaiian Islands, the Molinas were invited to appear at the sold-out festival, held over three days, Sept. 25 to 27, inside the historic Fort and at other nearby locations, with the theme of "Ukuleles Across The Pacific."

"We perform as a father and son duo, which is great," Molina said. "I get to travel all over the world with him, and we have a lot of fun together on the road.
