LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - As you drive around Lexington, you may have noticed an increase at the pump.

According to GasBuddy, Lexington’s average gas prices rose 16.0 cents per gallon in the last week.

“Prices are up significantly from last week because we saw gas prices cycle last week,” said Patrick De Haan with GasBuddy. “That is, they took that big jump up and they’re now on the downward side of that.”

De Haan said if you can, you should wait a few days to fill up your tank because prices will continue to drift lower.

“Every week or two we see prices make that big jump up,” said De Haan.

De Haan said this is because Lexington is a market that engages in price cycling.
