An 8-year-old girl has died after she was ejected from a car during a crash in Texas.

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) said the crash occurred about 2.5 miles east of Bangs on FM 1849 around 1:35 a.m. local time on Friday, Oct. 3, according to the Wichita Falls Times-Record-News and Brownwood News .

Shawn Cleve Ales, 39, of Brownwood reportedly was traveling north on the roadway with his two daughters in a 2008 Hyundai Accent at the time of the crash.
