The transfer of medical services at the Dauphin County jail from PrimeCare to Mediko happened last week but not without an “unprecedented” level of obstruction by the former provider, according to Dauphin County Commissioner Justin Douglas.
Douglas spoke during a commissioners’s meeting Wednesday, saying PrimeCare handed over medical records in a read-only format. This will require county staff and the new medical provider, Mediko, to enter in every chart line for each of the more than 900 people in the county’s custody, he said.
