A Marshall County man charged with so many child pornography offenses they couldn't all fit in one court file has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Michael Benson, 65, of Marshalltown, was charged in April with 329 separate counts of possessing images of minors in sex acts — so many that they had to be spread across four separate criminal case numbers. According to the complaints, investigators received a tip about child pornography being uploaded to the internet in 2023, leading to a search of Benson's home and recovery of a computer hard drive on which police found the images.
