Quebec should develop its own natural gas industry, Alberta Premier Danielle Smith said during a visit Monday to Montreal where she encouraged the development of more economic links between the two provinces.

Asked if she would like to see a pipeline transporting fuel from Alberta through Quebec and whether it would carry oil or natural gas, Smith said she thought Quebec should develop its own natural gas industry.
