Jimmy “Wayne” Wood, age 82, of Cleveland

Jimmy “Wayne” Wood, age 82, of Cleveland, Georgia, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, October 1, 2025. Wayne was born on August 23, 1943, in Cleveland, Georgia, to the late Joseph Eldridge Wood and Grace Winkler Wood.

Wayne grew up in White County alongside his siblings, William George Wood, June Elizabeth Wood, and Vernon Eldridge Wood, all of whom preceded him in death. He was married to his first wife, Doris Ann (Adams) Wood, for 31 years until her passing. Wayne later married Margaret Lois (Dixon) Wood, with whom he shared 22 loving years before her death.

Wayne retired from General Motors after a long and dedicated career in automotive production. A man of strong work ethic and quiet faith, he was a member of both Mt. View Baptist Church and White Creek Baptist Chur
