The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County increased three-tenths of a cent Monday to $4.614.

The average price is 1.1 cents more than one week ago, 12.1 cents more than one month ago and 19.1 cents more than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $1.759 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.

Last week’s explosion and fire at Chevron’s El Segundo oil refinery — the state’s second largest — is expected to cause Southern California gas prices to rise in the coming days, though the extent and duration of any potential increases is unclear.
