A woman accused of embezzling more than $42,000 from the CENT Credit Union in Mason City pleaded guilty Monday to first-degree theft, a Class C felony.

Casey Servantez, 45, Mason City, will be sentenced on Dec. 15 in Cerro Gordo County District Court.

She stole the funds between May 2023 and January 2025 while she was employed at the credit union, according to a Mason City Police Department criminal complaint.

On March 4, CENT Credit Union reported to the Mason City Police Department that during an internal audit of escrow accounts it was discovered that were several cashiers checks cut from multiple escrow accounts for personal use by Servantez. The total amount taken was $42,957.
