RICHMOND, Texas (KIAH) -- In the battle against human trafficking, Fort Bend County is beginning a new partnership that it hopes can combat trafficking in the area.

The Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office announced a partnership with the Human Trafficking Institute that will give authorities in the county special training and expertise to identify, track and prosecute human traffickers.

“We intend to eradicate and combat human trafficking in Fort Bend County, Texas. And that's what you see here is action,” Middleton said. “Fort Bend County is moving against human trafficking.”

Traci Bennett, the chief of special crimes for the DA’s office, said that the partnership will provide resources to all the law enforcement agencies in Fort Bend County.
