GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - Downtown Grand Island was full of marching and music as the 83rd annual Harvest of Harmony parade went through on Saturday. The event included 88 high school bands from all over Nebraska.

As the parade came to a close, many of the bands traveled to Grand Island Senior High for the field competition.

Many of the bands were happy to have a pit crew playing with them.

“The pit crew is just basically like bells, and marimba, like everything that can’t really play like on the field and it is just sits up front,” said Stella Birkestrand, Minden High School Freshman.

Other schools added more than just bells and marimba; Adam Central Senior Calin Davis rocked out on a bass guitar while performing.
