Police have identified a 76-year-old man who was struck and killed while crossing the Burlington Bypass early last week.

Vincent Monaco, 76, of Burlington, was hit by a vehicle around 5:57 a.m. on Sept. 30 while attempting to cross the roadway near Fountain Avenue, according to Burlington Township police.

Monaco was treated at the scene and taken to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, where he died from his injuries, authorities said.

The driver stopped immediately after the crash, tried to aid Monaco and cooperated with law enforcement, police said.

As of Monday, the crash remains under investigation.
