SUNY New Paltz women's basketball will face one of its most challenging schedules ever, including a date with the defending national champions at New York University.
The Hawks will open their schedule on Nov. 7 and 12 with home games against traditional Mid-Hudson rivals Mount Saint Mary and Vassar, respectively. Ithaca, on Nov. 15, completes a three-game homestand to start the season. Vassar and Mount Saint Mary both lost in the opening round of the NCAA Div. III tourney. Ithaca won the Empire 8 regular-season title but failed to get out of its tournament.
New Paltz has a week off before playing at NYU, the unbeaten national champs from last season.
