WACO, Texas (KWTX) - A former Waco man charged with capital murder in a 2010 sealed indictment is in the McLennan County Jail after his extradition from Mexico.

Jose Mario Escobedo, 46, remains jailed under no bond in the August 14, 2010, robbery and stabbing death of Najmal Haq, 54, owner of the New Quick Food Mart at 1902 Old Dallas Highway.

Authorities say Escobedo fled to Mexico after the incident and has been at-large ever since. His indictment was unsealed Monday after his arrest and return to Waco.
