CHICAGO — More than two dozen Chicago police officers were hit with chemical agents deployed by federal law enforcement during tense confrontations with protesters over the weekend, the city’s top cop said during a news conference Monday.

The federal agents’ use of tear gas came after an agent shot a woman Saturday in Brighton Park after the woman allegedly drove her car into a Border Patrol vehicle. The shooting led protesters to arrive at the scene, which caused a standoff between them and Border Patrol agents.
