Ben Lewis has sadly passed away at the young age of 46.

The Australian actor was best known for his musical theatre performances in shows like The Phantom of the Opera and the sequel Love Never Dies .

Deadline reports that Ben passed away on Monday (October 6) in Sydney, Australia after a battle with bowel cancer. He was diagnosed with the disease in February 2024.

After starring in the original Australian production of Love Never Dies in 2011, which was filmed and released on DVD, Ben went on to play the Phantom in London’s West End production of The Phantom of the Opera .

Ben starred alongside Patti LuPone and Jonathan Bailey in the 2018 West End revival of Company and he starred in the UK, Ireland, and Japan tours of The Bodyguard musical.
