SALEM Ore. (KPTV) - A 24-year-old man was sentenced to over 30 years in prison last week for his role in a deadly shooting at a park in 2020, according to the Marion County DA’s Office.
Arturo Mendez-Perez of Salem was sentenced to 32 and a half years in prison after pleading guilty to first-degree attempted murder and two counts of first-degree robbery.
The sentence stems from a shooting that took place the night of Sept. 22, 2020, at Hoover Park in Salem.
According to police, the shooting occurred around 11 p.m. that night. Responding officers found two gunshot victims, a man and a woman.
The man, 18-year-old Andrew Ray Rosas, later died, while the woman was left with serious injuries.
Neighbors FOX 12 spoke with at the time of the shooting reported hearing multiple gun shots, and s
