The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency now plans to enforce new air pollution rules for coke oven plants, including at the SunCoke operation at Cleveland-Cliffs Indiana Harbor Works in East Chicago.

The EPA had been planning to delay the new rules that would further restrict emissions of pollutants like lead, mercury and benzene. It announced it was reversing course and will let the tougher regulations take effect now.
