JEROME COUNTY, Idaho — The Jerome County Board of Commissioners has rescinded a recently approved weapons ban at the county administration building after determining that state law may prohibit such restrictions.

The board announced on Sept. 29 that it would ban weapons in the courthouse and administrative building at 300 North Lincoln Avenue, starting Oct. 1. Commissioners cited recent events at national and local levels as reasons for the enhanced security and said they had consulted with courthouse security staff and legal advisors before making the decision.
