HAMMOND, La. (WAFB) - Several people have been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a man in Hammond.

According to police, the man, Antonio Brister, 20, was shot at by a group of people from a wooded area. Investigators said the incident happened in the area of King Ard and Apple Street on Wednesday, October 1.

Amarion Dupree Nelson, 21; Darius Matthew, 17; Zakarey Smith, 18; Davonte Malik Hayes, 22; Darius Ray Brown, 18; and Ja’Ray Mitchell, 21 have been arrested. Police said they also have an arrest warrant out for Tykeem Washington, 17, who has not yet been taken into custody.
