PETOSKEY — A Northern Michigan healthcare provider wants to make sure you dispose of unwanted or unused medications and other medical waste properly.

This coming Saturday, McClaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey will be hosting a community collection event called the POD Drop-Off. POD stand for Prescription and Over-the-counter Drugs.

They will be accepting over-the-counter meds, prescription meds, including controlled substances, nutritional supplements, liquid medications, medicates ointment, sharps/needles, even pet medications.

It’s all an effort to keep our precious water resources clean and safe.

The POD Drop-Off is Saturday, October 11, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the McClaren Northern Michigan circle drive, 416 Connable Avenue, Petoskey.
