KENNEWICK, Wash. – Kennewick Police Department is set to begin patrols to enforce a new law prohibiting drivers from cutting through business parking lots to avoid stoplights and intersections.

The Kennewick City Council voted last month to implement the law after observing between 80 and 120 vehicles using private property for this purpose in just one month.

The increased patrols aim to enhance safety and ensure compliance with the new regulation, according to the police.
