NEW YORK—The Blue Jays have been operating from a position of power since the start of the post-season because of their American League East title. One win at Yankee Stadium would ensure it stays that way.

A bye through the wild-card round gave the Jays time to rest and the ability to line up their starting rotation any way they wanted. If the Jays take care of business this week in the Bronx, they will have the same luxuries before the next round.

The Jays, who have a 2-0 lead in their AL division series, can finish off the New York Yankees on Tuesday night. The other AL series between Detroit and Seattle will go at least two more games, maybe three.

The quicker the Jays get a third win, the better off they will be. Baseball, after all, is random at times and momentum can shift. The
