AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Two local sheriff’s offices have received donations of bullet and stab protective vests for their K9 officers.

The McDuffie County Sheriff’s Office announced that K9 Cooper was gifted a custom-fitted vest sponsored by Charles J. Smith of Vineyard Haven, MA.

The vest is embroidered with the words, “Born to Love – Trained to Serve – Loyal Always.”

South Carolina receives more funds for Old Vaucluse bridge replacement

The South Carolina Department of Transportation got approved for federal funding to speed up the process of rebuilding the Old Vaucluse Road bridge.

Meanwhile, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office reported that K9 Rebel also received a protective vest, donated by the Nancy Allison Perkins Foundation of Flossmoor, IL.
