Democrats seemingly cannot make up their mind between two candidates who are challenging Rep. David Valadao (R–Hanford).

The Leaders We Deserve PAC, run by former Democratic National Committee Vice Chair David Hogg, has endorsed Visalia Unified School Board Trustee Randy Villegas over Asm. Jasmeet Bains (D–Bakersfield) in the District 22 race.

The backstory: The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) has long sought to oust Valadao from the district. • The Sun reported in April that Bains was being recruited by the DCCC and establishment Democrats to enter the race against Valadao as an alternative to Villegas, who is the choice of progressives, such as Rep. Ro Khanna (D–Fremont).
