CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (KCRG) - Eighteen holes were not enough to determine an individual district champion.

After a round at Pheasant Ridge golf course, Linn-Mar’s Christian Cloyd and Dubuque Wahlert’s Connor Walsh were tied with a score of 68.

Cloyd came out on top after three playoff holes, winning the district championship.

But both players are still excited to go to state with their teams. Dubuque Wahlert finished second, Linn-Mar finished third.

Xavier came in first in the team race, with a final team score of 291.

“We’re best friends we’ve all been together for four years and we’ve never made it together,” said Cloyd.

“Our mentality is ‘play our game,’” said Walsh. “We have six really good golfers who can shoot a really good score so I think if we just stay true to us and stay true
