TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - Even during a shutdown, border security remains an active job.
A Cochise County rancher is watching agents continue to work without pay.
Border Patrol operations continue, but John Ladd said that the current shutdown needs to end.
“I’m proud of them. You wouldn’t know any different, the way they operate,” said Ladd, a fourth-generation rancher in Cochise County. His property stretches along 10 1/2 miles of the border with Mexico.
“The border’s real quiet down (where I live), but they’re still doing their job,” he said.
He’s seen a variety of enforcement efforts by Border Patrol over the years and has also watched agents continue their work through previous shutdowns.
