New Delhi : The Bar Council of India (BCI) on Monday suspended advocate Rakesh Kishore with immediate effect after he attempted to attack Chief Justice of India (CJI) B.R. Gavai inside the Supreme Court.

CJI Gavai reportedly decided against taking action on the advocate, who attempted to disrupt proceedings in the Supreme Court earlier in the day, by allegedly attempting to throw his shoe at the CJI.

The advocate is said to have approached the dais and allegedly tried to remove his shoe, but security personnel intervened immediately and escorted him out of the courtroom. While being taken away, he was heard shouting slogans referring to Sanatan Dharma.
