Timothée Chalamet ‘s ping pong epic “ Marty Supreme ” has finally been unveiled following a surprise world premiere at the New York Film Festival, and members of the film press in attendance are calling Josh Safdie’s latest an “awe-inspiring cinematic tour-de-force” featuring a “performance of a lifetime” from Chalamet.
Variety co-editor-in-chief Ramin Setoodeh shared a glowing review of the film on X, citing many of its perceived inspirations. He wrote , “‘Marty Supreme’ is ‘Uncut Gems’ meets ‘The Catcher in the Rye’ meets ‘Jerry Maguire,’ carried by Timothée Chalamet’s best performance yet. I loved it so much.”
Discussing Film chairman Diego Andaluz echoed the praise. He called “Marty Supreme” Safdie’s “best film yet,” giving particular praise to Chalamet in the starring role.
