HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A Houston man is behind bars, accused of pointing a high-powered rifle at two young children outside their home in southeast Houston.

Steven Lynn Jackson, 61, faces two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. A hearing officer set his bond at $75,000 for each charge, higher than the $50,000 per count requested by the state, citing public safety concerns.

According to court records, Jackson allegedly pointed the rifle at a neighbor's two children, ages 1 and 4, at their apartment complex on Winkler. Their mother called Houston police, and officers later found Jackson in possession of the weapon.
