Bettendorf Middle School selected as Iowa’s first middle school to receive Brain Health Retreat Room

BETTENDORF, Iowa (KWQC) - Bettendorf Middle School has been selected for a one-of-a-kind project made possible through grant funding. It’s a project that district leaders say will benefit both students and staff.

Bettendorf Middle School is Iowa’s first middle school to receive a Brain Health Retreat Room, launching in the 2026-2027 school year, district leaders said. The project is made possible through a $40,000 grant and the continued partnership with Brain Health now, a nonprofit organization dedicated to changing the narrative around mental health by using the term “brain health” to reduce stigma and foster more supportive environments.
