GILBERT, AZ (AZFamily) — Arizona’s Family is continuing to investigate complaints surrounding Gilbert residents’ water bills, as our newsroom receives dozens of emails daily.

Last week, the Town of Gilbert exclusively sat down with the station, stating that bills are higher due to a three-pronged rate increase. The rate increased by 25% last year, followed by an additional 50% in the last few months. In 2026, residents can expect another 25% increase.

But there are still more questions.

Tasha Carimeli is like hundreds of others, getting her water bill like normal each month.

“Our normal is about 17,000 gallons a month,” Carimeli said. “Now it is 49,000 and I thought that was ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous.”
