Shelves of books stand untouched in the Fogelson Library at Santa Fe's midtown campus, which is a treasure trove of other items, including library posters, old literary journals, electronics and even kitchen appliances, which lie stashed in the library's basement.

"This place is an enigma in the way it was just left," said Carly Venditti, asset development manager for the city's Metropolitan Redevelopment Agency, during a tour of the library last month.

The Fogelson collection previously included artwork and antiquities, but most of those have been moved to storage sites off the campus.

Formerly the library of the College of Santa Fe and then the Santa Fe University of Art and Design, Fogelson in the future will join the Santa Fe Public Library system as part of the ongoing redevelopmen
