CEDAR CITY, Utah (ABC4) — The Cedar City Fireman's Association and the Iron County Chief's Association held a fundraiser for Mike Phillips, the Cedar City Fire Chief who was injured last week during a training exercise.
The fundraiser was a "whole hog" barbeque dinner at the Diamond Z Arena for $20 a plate, alongside raffles for two guns and a one-hour fall leaf viewing flight for two that was donated by SUU Aviation.
Erick Cox, President of the Cedar City Fireman's Association said, "We're just trying to help him out, make sure he's taken care of."
An anonymous donor covered all food costs, which meant that all the money raised was able to go directly to Chief Phillips and his family.
