CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Charlottesville City Council moved to adopt a resolution brought forward by City Manager Sam Sanders authorizing the purchase of a building at 2000 Holiday Dr. to potentially convert to a low-barrier shelter for unhoused people.

Officials say right now this is just a real estate transaction. It would be around $6.2 million for the 27,000 square foot space. Extensive renovation would be needed before becoming a shelter.
