Bhim Mahabadur Jora, a Nepalese national with a Rs 1 lakh bounty, was allegedly killed in an encounter with the Gurgaon and Delhi Police late Monday in the Capital’s Aastha Kunj Park, police said early Tuesday.

Jora, leader of a Nepali gang involved in thefts across major Indian cities, was wanted in multiple cases, including the murder of Dr Yogesh Chandra Paul in Delhi ’s Jangpura in May 2024, and a Rs 20 lakh theft at the house of BJP ’s Mehrauli District Vice-President Mamta Bharadwaj in Gurgaon’s Sector 49 on October 2, the police said.

When the police nabbed Jora’s accomplice in the theft case, during the interrogation, his name surfaced as the mastermind.
