Suspended Advocate Rakesh Kishore, who attempted to hurl an object at Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud’s bench in the Supreme Court, has claimed he was acting out of “hurt” and not under the influence of alcohol. His statement came after the incident came to light and shocked everyone in the country. Following the incident, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to CJI Gavai and condemned the incident.

What did Rakesh Kishore say?

Kishore stated that he doesn’t regret the incident and that it was his reaction to Justice Gavai’s actions. “I was hurt. I was not inebriated, this was my reaction to his action. I am not fearful. I don’t regret what happened.” A PIL was filed in the Court of CJI on 16th Sept. The CJI mocked it and said – go and pray to the idol and tell it to restore it
