A baby has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Cleveland Police has confirmed a man has been charged with section 18 grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent.

Paramedics were called to a property in the Eston area on Sunday, October 5, who alerted the police force. The three-month-old baby boy was taken to Royal Victoria Infirmary, in Newcastle, where he remains in a "critical" condition.

A 22-year-old man has been charged with the section 18 offence and is due to appear at Teesside Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, October 7.
