On October 8, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA), marking a significant milestone in India's aviation sector. The airport is designed to alleviate congestion at Mumbai's existing airport and enhance connectivity across the region.

Located in Ulwe, Navi Mumbai, approximately 37 km from South Mumbai, NMIA is developed on a 1,160-hectare site. The first phase includes Terminal 1, which boasts a capacity to handle 20 million passengers annually and 0.8 million metric tonnes of cargo.
