Bhubaneswar : The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds in several districts of Odisha on October 7 and 8.

A trough persists over north coastal Odisha to east Telangana, and an upper air cyclonic circulation is visible over northeast Jharkhand.

The affected districts include Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati. The IMD has warned of gusty surface winds reaching 30-40 kmph in these areas.
