The National Capital of India is facing a huge surge in mosquito-borne diseases, especially malaria and chikungunya cases, reaching their highest in the last 5-10 months, according to civic body data and reports from UNI. This year alone, between January and October, 431 malaria cases and 75 chikungunya cases were recorded, making a worrying trend amid an ongoing staff protest by the MCD of Delhi.
Only a week ago, 60 fresh malaria cases and 14 fresh chikungunya cases were seen, as reported by the Indian Express.
