A speeding car crashed through the railing on the Coastal Road in Mumbai and plunged into the Arabian Sea Monday night, said the police. Two Maharashtra Security Force (MSF) personnel and a police constable quickly reached the spot and jumped into the sea to save the lone occupant of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Prashnukar Battiwala, a resident of Tardeo.

During the initial probe, a breathalyser test found that Battiwala, 45, was under the influence of alcohol. His blood sample has also been taken, and a medical report is yet to be received, said a police officer. He was rushed to the hospital and is currently stable, according to the police.
