Just a day after dramatic scenes played out in the Supreme Court as a lawyer attempted to throw a shoe at the Chief Justice, BR Gavai's courtroom witnessed a light-hearted exchange on Tuesday.

The incident happened while a Supreme Court bench comprising CJI Gavai and Justice K Vinod Chandran was hearing a matter related to the appointment and promotions of district court judges.

WHAT HAPPENED?

During the hearing, Justice Chandran sought to discuss a matter with the Chief Justice and briefly muted the proceedings.

After the brief off-record exchange, CJI Gavai said his "brother had something to say", but chose to share it privately as things might get blown out of proportion.
