Noida plot owners who have kept their properties vacant for years have been urged to take action as the Noida Authority has announced a crackdown on those holding land idle in hopes of higher prices without starting construction.
The Authority has declared that if no house is built on a plot within 12 years, the allotment will be cancelled, and the land will revert to the government.
This decision was finalised at the 219th Noida Board Meeting to address the city’s increasing population and housing requirements.
Several sectors in Noida are marred by vacant plots, which not only detract from the area’s aesthetic but also hinder urban development. The Authority identified 17 such plots with no construction or completion certificates, nine of which remain entirely vacant.
